Excursion Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi & Ravello
Guided visit of Rome
Guided visit of Rome
Our first stop will be made in Sorrento, to reach the international city of Sorrento you need to drive the coastal road at its farthest point. Spectacular views of the Gulf of Naples and the island of Capri (which was once united in Sorrento) are revealed as the Amalfi coast road emerges from above the mountain cliff. A short drive through the town before arriving in the center - an important commercial center for locals and tourists, with many shops (normally open between 09: 00-13: 00 and from 16:00 to 8:00 p.m., approximately) . Sorrento, despite being a city of the past, has an interesting history museum "Correale", which can be visited in the morning, with a stop of about 2 hours
Departing from Sorrento it takes about 45 minutes to reach Positano, Driving downhill directly through Positano, down the one-way system is unique in its landscape, passing by many local restaurants, into the heart of the city - the busy central square of the Mills, that is connected to a narrow path leading down to the waterfront. In Piazza dei Mulini, you must leave the car as all the roads leading to the seafront are only for pedestrians. These roads also lead to the cathedral, shops selling ceramics, lemons, shoes and "Positano fashion" clothing. There is a short uphill walk back to the car and this time, climbing the mountain, back to the main coastal road to Amalfi.
Here we are in the middle of our tour, and the right time and the right place to stop in one of the many typical restaurants that are along our route, lunch with calm, continue to the coastal road, this begins after Sorrento, Positano crosses, the fishing villages of Praiano, Furore and Conca dei Marini, and continue until you reach the crowded square of Amalfi is located in front of the sea - port and a long stretch of pebble beach. Opposite the port of Amalfi, there is the one and only bus station along the coast. Behind this square is the main shopping street of Amalfi that ends at the city farther and higher. Along the pedestrian street are several bars and cafes, not to mention the numerous shops selling limoncello, casual wear, swimwear, gifts, basic food, and, of course, ceramics. However, if you would like to see more than just shops, Amalfi has some interesting places to explore: the most spectacular cathedral along the coast, the paper factory and its museum. A walk uphill along a very narrow road that passes several wineries and olive oil factories etc ....
after stopping in Amalfi, it sets off to Ravello, a rural village Unesco heritage, perched on top of the mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Ravello, famous for its breathtaking landscapes, natural beauty and ancient monuments are best represented in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo. In high season, these gardens are full of intersecting sweet flowers that bloom, shadows of flora and scent of lemons. There are also many classical music concerts held in the gardens of Villa Rufolo, located just off the main square of Ravello. Apart from the main cathedral, also situated in the square, and a history museum built in the basement of the cathedral, there are many other churches to visit as it used to be a total of 13 churches in the country. Along the narrow arches of Via Roma you will find some small boutiques and souvenir shops.
